Community CalendarFamily Calendar is a free community service listing activities taking place in our listening area.  It is a great place to promote your church activities, Gospel Concert, or community event.  Family Calendar is aired three times daily at 8:15 AM, 12:10 PM and 6:30 PM.  Events will be announced no more then two weeks before the start date, and will get aired at least once each day.  KJAB does not necessarily endorse all items listed on Family Calendar, and reserves the right to determine which announcements apply to our audience.

Everyone is welcome to an old fashioned tent revival at Hopewell Baptist Church in Thompson September 8-12.  The evangelist will be Monte Shinkle from Concord Baptist Church in Jefferson City.  Revival starts at 7:00 each night, and meals will be served at 6:00.  Saturday's meal will be a BBQ at 5:00 followed at 6:00 with music from The Polston Family from Fulton.  On Sunday morning, service will begin at 11:00. 
The Martinsburg Library invites you to attend their book club.  This event will be held on Saturday, September 4, beginning at 9:30 a.m.  The Martinsburg Library may be reached at 573-492-6254 for more information about the book club.
Effective Parenting in a Defective World is a 9-week DVD study taught by Pastor Chip Ingram.  Southside Baptist Church in Fulton will hold these studies beginning Sunday, September 12th, from 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.  Packed with practical advice, this series will give you a vision for your children's future and life-changing help for today.  Childcare will be provided for the study, and for more information or to register, you may call 573-642-5921 or email southsidebaptist1@sbcglobal.net.  Southside Baptist Church is located at 501 South Business 54 in Fulton.
Family Life Fellowship in Moberly will be hosting Pastor Ray Bevan onSunday, September 5, at their 9:30 & 11:00 morning services.  Pastor Bevan is Sr. Pastor of Kings Church in Newport, South Wales in the United Kingdom.  This pastor, author, teacher, preacher, musician and singer is gifted in engaging people from all walks of life as he challenges and comforts through God's Word.  Family Life Fellowship is located at 1614 E. Are there times when you feel like you can't discern God's voice from others in your life?  Every Tuesday morning at 9:00, starting September 7, there will be a Bible study from the book by Mark & Patti Virkler entitled "How to Hear God's Voice."  This book gives vital keys to increase the intimacy of your prayer time, teaches how to be still before God, helps you recognize His speech as spontaneous thoughts, and more.  The study will be held at the Mexico YMCA.  Workbook and guide cost $28, and scholarships are available.  You can contact Madge Atkinson of Pearl Ministries for more information about this study and how to sign up by calling 573-581-1118.

Are you trying to fill out a job application on the Internet, or working on your resumé?  The Daniel Boone Regional Library will have drop-in sessions every Monday and Tuesday, 9:30-11:30 a.m., that offer you the extra computer time you may need to fill out online job applications.  Staff will be on hand to offer some basic computer assistance in the Training Center.  For more information, the library can be reached at (573) 443-3161, or visit www.dbrl.org.
The Daniel Boone Regional Library offers a variety events and services.  During the first two weeks of September, they will offer many programs for children including Night-time Stories, Rhymes and Rhythms for Walkers, and Times for Twos.  They also offer programs for teens, including a Regional Teen Photography Contest.  For adults, they offer demonstrations like Self-Guided Computer Tutorials, Who Stole My Identity?, and Gardening in Missouri: Dividing Perennials.  To view times and locations for these events and more, visit their website at www.dbrl.org., or call the library at 573-443-3161.
The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Martingsburg on September 8.  The blood drive will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m.  The Knights of Columbus is located on Jefferson St. in Martinsburg.

Janet Paschal will be in concert at Calvary Baptist Church in Columbia on September 11, at 7:00 p.m.  Janet has appeared on Bill Gaither Homecoming concerts and videos, which have been seen world-wide.  She is known for her gentle humility, authentic warmth, and engaging graciousness.  Calvary Baptist is located at 606 Rdgeway Ave. in Columbia.  There will be a $10 admission fee at the door for adults.  Doors open at 6:00 p.m.  If you would like more information, you may call 573-445-3625.

Award-winning southern gospel group, The Inspirations, will be in concert at Presser Performing Arts Center in Mexico on September 26.  If you like to hear the Gospel given in solid, traditional, four-part harmony, you'll love this quartet's music.  The Inspirations' concert begins at 5:00 p.m., with the doors opening at 4:00.  A love offering will be taken, and the suggested donation is $10/person.  For more information, please call 573-581-8606.  Presser Performing Arts Center is located at 900 South Jefferson in Mexico.
 

You are invited to enjoy an evening of southern gospel music with the Blackwood Quartet at First Baptist Church in Fulton on Sunday evening, September 12, at 6:00 PM.  Formed in 1934 and based out of Choctaw County, Mississippi, the Blackwood name is legendary in the gospel music industry.  The original Blackwood Brothers Quartet performed at churches, auditoriums, and other events through the years, and Mark Blackwood continues the tradition through the Blackwood Quartet.  The First Baptist Church is located at 701 Court Street in Fulton.
